Hi, I'm Dawson!

 

From the outside my music career was successful: violist in the Houston Grand Opera & Ballet orchestras, teaching at 3 different colleges and lots of traveling and gigging.

But internally, things didn’t add up. While each of these experiences was valuable individually, the collective career profile DIDN’T work for me and I became conscious of the issues:

  • Performing on stage all the time didn’t suit my personality and caused serious health issues
  • Connection to my purpose and creativity was at an all time low
  • I couldn’t grow financially without adding more work, I considered quitting the profession all together

So I started consciously designing a career that DID work for me. I resigned from my opera and ballet positions this year and created Aspire Music Company. A new music business model that:

  • Suits my personality and health challenges
  • Engages my purpose and creativity every day
  • Helps me make a difference in the world while thriving financially

I designed a better career model for myself and now I’m happy to share what I’ve learned with you! About Aspire Music

 

Musicians are passionate about music, but often lack a career that is optimized around their skills and personality. They doubt the sound they create, accept work that doesn’t align with their goals, and become burned out over time.

As violist in the Houston Grand Opera & Ballet orchestras, I achieved some of traditional markers of success only to find limited ways to thrive financially, little creative energy, and health issues. So I created Aspire Music Company to teach my clients and students to succeed on their own terms.
